There are two popular strains of Green Crack – one that was bred from Skunk #1 as a Sativa dominant plant in Athens, Georgia in the 70’s and one that was bred from landrace Afghani parents as an Indica dominant breed. Originally called Green Cush, the strain was later dubbed by rapper Snoop Dogg as Green Crack due to its potent energizing features. Marijuana experts have since tried to revive the old name as Green Crack contains no cocaine as the name currently indicates.
It has both earthy and sweet aspects in terms of aroma and taste – think tropical, sweet and fruity – lemon, pine, citrus, mango. The smell is so powerful that anyone can get a strong sensation from just a whiff of the plant. As a hybrid, the sativa component aids in wiping away any lethargy or tiredness and treating many other conditions including stress, depression, and fatigue, whilst the indica component is useful for treating insomnia and anxiety and when dealing with headaches and other types of pain. The less pleasant side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, paranoia and in some cases, dizziness.
